Confused about the paper? I'll try to explain some of the differences: It is the nature of all these papers to be somewhat "wavy" even when pressed flat. This adds to their beauty! Unryu: very light, translucent, has long swirling fibers. The last 8 prints use a slightly heavier white unryu, but it's also translucent, it just doesn't have as many fibers as the first batch. It's slightly more opaque. Unryu feels a bit more like fabric than paper. Chiri unryu does not have long swirling fibers--instead it has small bits of bark particles. This does not affect the texture--it's quite smooth and VERY thin. Kitakata: off-white or buff in color, smooth and silky texture. Fairly thin. Daphne Medium Weight: buff in color with visible swirling fibers, thicker than the other papers, very strong, very smooth. French Marble: solid colored on the back with marbling on the front. This is roughly the same thickness as nice construction paper. Thai Marble (Firestorm and Tsunami): very interesting paper, it feels much more like fabric than paper! VERY soft, "crinkled" texture, almost looks like tie-dyed fabric, marbled on the front with black and metallic gold.
