Katherine, I don't know enough about Shamos to see, if this had been an OE it would have made me wonder. If it had been a Seabright, it would have made Dan wonder. I think most chicken people would think "mutt." JJ

Well okay, see it's good I didn't do a ginormous drawing then, or everyone would just be scratching their heads.

Think color! What color is he? A shamo is often compared to a....

I actually have wanted to do a series of these, all using different references. Maybe it wouldn't work though. Hmm.

I don't know enough about Shamos to know that is compared to another something. hmmm...a reversed black-tailed white Japanese?

Here is a random thought. What if you morphed the one species into another but kept the colors the same. I think you did a piece like that once when you were younger, but with a dalmation and a fire hydrant. Just a nifty suggestion!

BM, that's an interesting idea. Dang that would be a lot of drawing though.. the middle stages would be weird! I was just going for the end product here. This is really entertaining to me. People either see it right away or don't see it all.

Is it that it is a White Laced Red? As in Cornish? I noticed the color right off, just didnt know enough about the Shamos to know that they arent "available" in that color ;-) (thanks for sticking up for me JJ!)

Alright, I know Shamos, and I don't get it. It probably is just going right past me though. If the secret's in the colour, it doesn't help that I know (after 4 years breeding Serama) that this colour is possible. The only other species I can think that a Shamo would be compared to would be some of the tougher looking dogs, like a bulldog or something.

Katherine,
How about a BB Red Eagle next!
Or try a "Golden Eagle" (sebright?)
When it finally dawns on a person, it is definitely brings a smile!
